summer passed away quietly
Sep. 22nd, 2009 02:28 pmSeptember 16: E Pluribus Wiggum, the most overplayed episode in the history of the Simpsons.
I said last year around this time that summer lasts just long enough for it to end when I begin to get sick of it. Except all of June and much of July were screwy, so it didn't exactly work the way it's supposed to.
Sorry, I have nothing to talk about, not even what my stripper name would be (did you know some of them are completely arbitrary? Put the same name in twice and see what happens), but I have been planning this for two weeks or so. Here's the instructions, for the three of you who read this and the one of you who knows where cornerorange went and what you did with her: Pick (anywhere from 1 to x, natural numbers are preferred, but if you associate half of a song or something with summer, be my guest) and list them, also, put snippets of lyrics if they have lyrics and if you know the lyrics to the ones under lyrics unknown, tell me what they are and I'll edit them.
Done in alphabetical order for five songs, after which I just sort of abandoned it
Cocteau Twins - Need-Fire
hold on, I won't forget
Flying Saucer Attack - In The Light of Time
i see the trees fall, but i remain
Radiohead - Airbag
..!!in an intastella burst i am back to save the universe!!
Revolver - Shakedown
just one more means I can drift away to safety
Ride - Vapour Trail
you are a vapour trail in a deep blue sky
Slowdive - Souvlaki Space Station
closed doors bring open minds
The Sunflower Conspiracy - Belle Chase
it was nothing, never wear your heart on your sleeve
Lush - Breeze
hot summer's kiss cloudless bliss burns my tongue
Pale Saints - Featherframe
moving space is left to take your place of colours against the grain
Boards of Canada - Dandelion
a new contraption to capture a dandelion has been put together by the crew
The Flashbulb - If Trees Could Speak
if one day the trees could speak they'd say very mean things
The Ecstasy of Saint Theresa - Just For That Moment
hello hello hello
Eyeless in Gaza - Pearl and Pale
lights and flickers calling to me lithe like the curling vines
Splashdown - Presumed Lost
if they try to clip your wings, fly away, far away
Delerium - Flowers Become Screens
the pain is nothing that a downpour won't erase
The Starlight Conspiracy - Switching Lines
traffic lights will make you blind if you stare too long
The Magnetic Fields - 100,000 Fireflies
why do we keep shrieking when we mean soft things?
Kayo Dot - A Pitcher of Summer
the wind turning drifting stars to madness
Lyrics unknown
On!Air!Library! - Faultered Ego
Eyeless in Gaza - Hunger Song
Ghost - Ballad of Summer Rounder
Amp - Sunflower
Luminous Orange - Garden of Stones
The Durutti Column - Twenty Trees
Aoineko - Violet

Burning Question: Lyndon la Rouche compared Obama to Hitler. I don't get it; is Lyndon praising Obama's health care reform?
