reachlessness
Feb. 18th, 2011 10:19 pmIn case you didn't notice, it is (or was - 60 today, 62 yesterday) too nice to read The War In Heaven or any other crap, so I read Celestis by Paul Park instead and listened to the new Radiohead, I think it sounds like either a missing link between Amnesiac and Hail to the Thief, or maybe like a missing link between Amnesiac and In Rainbows. I like. A lot. Give Up The Ghost and Codex are the current highlights.
I really want to read this, description courtesy of someone on Barbelith: an expedition journeys into an incredibly large house with thousands of floors. They get lost, some return and tell of what alien and obscure stuff they came across. I really liked this story. It reminded me of my nightmares of getting lost in vast and strange houses.
Not me; I do have dreams of being lost in vast and strange houses, but - go to burning question
It reminds someone else of Kathryn S. Starbuck's The House at the Top of the Hill. He thinks it's by an Eastern European writer, not Lem or the Brothers Strugatsky, even if it does sound like something either of them would write. I'm annoyed by this and blame BigHollywood and the rest of the far right blogosphere.
burning question: how can a book I've never even heard of remind me of something?
burning question: do you ever remember everything about something except for the title, even the font of the title?
