Nothing; I'd have spent it all to bribe the orchestra into playing Marche au supplice from the Symphonine fantastique when Kate approaches the altar.
I saw a thread about bad video game artwork and it's weird but not actually unexpected that nobody's brought up Socket for the Sega Genesis. That's not just bad, it has as much charm as the average furry drawing.
The game's decent. Not good, but not terrible either. Yes, the character is charmless. Yes, it's a ripoff of Sonic. Yes, the sound effects are annoying. But there are worse games out there. Much worse.
"I read that as "Din City". For a moment, I thought about Frank Miller's acclaimed comic series with every character replaced by a suitable dinosaur"
Which would be awesome.
I saw a book called the City Trilogy (and am thinking about acquiring this somehow) at the library in Watertown along with a hardback of The Dragons of Babel I never knew existed and a hardback of Child of the River I never knew was the American and got into a random conversation about David Mitchell.
I didn't remember that bowling alley scene in number9dream when she said it disturbed her. I remember what she's talking about, but I don't remember it taking place in a bowling alley.
I didn't find two books I was looking for that I'd imagine are long-since out of print. The concepts sound cool; the guy who reprinted the list was calling it elitist because it had things he hasn't heard of. I'm well read too but I'm not calling it elitist because I've never heard of things on the list.
EDITED because I keep forgetting this thing:
10. What author do you own the most books by and why?
Tied between Tad Williams and Glen Cook. Roger Zelazny if an omnibus of ten books is considered ten books and not one.
11. Do you own multiple copies of any book? What are they? Why do you have multiple copies?
As far as I know, I don't. But I plan to get a new copy of Dhalgren because it's a early edition my mom owned and it's falling apart. Eventually.
12. Book borrowing – do you use the library? Do you prefer to try before you buy? What about lending your books to friends? Are you a good borrower, do you remember to return books?
Not really. Libraries have pesky things like due dates. I'm tempted to go to some library sales, though.
I don't lend much, I just recommend. I'm just kind of paranoid in that regard. I don't borrow either.
13. Do you reread a lot? Why (not)? Name a book you have reread many times.
Depends on how big my To Be Read Pile is. If it's small and I'm in the mood, I'll reread something. As for what I reread many times, I read Memory, Sorrow, and Thorn three times.
Burning Question: what's the worst book/video game/album cover you've ever seen?
