the melodics of madness
Aug. 26th, 2017 08:45 pmI met two shih poos, a border collie puppy with brown spots, another puppy, a black shih-tzu wearing a blue t-shirt, a Boston terrier pug mix who looked like a Frenchie, and two pugs. I met a woman with green hair.
One of the passengers was wearing an ankh pendant. I made him look more androgynous, like Desire.
Papagãyo is a Mexican place and I'm wondering if Spanish has ã. Spoiler alert, it doesn't. It does show up in Portuguese and avañe'ẽ, neither of which are spoken in Mexico. Papagayo is a Spanish word for parrot, imitative of its calls.
Raspberry lime rickey sorbet is a thing that exists and it is every bit as amazing as it sounds.
Assembly Square was once a automobile manufactory and now it's home to a new T station and what is possibly the tallest building in Somerville and plaques in the ground that say "you are here" in different languages, including Tamil: நீங்கள் இங்கே இருக்கிறீர்கள.
It was their first time playing in Assembly Square amongst all the planes, trains, and automobiles. Aside from the airport sending several planes over us near the end of the performance, it's a rather nice location. As I said about Venice and Italy's competition with us about who can have the worst politicians, you're welcome to try shouting "الله أكبر" at an airport. Better yet, get a recording of it and plant it on some prominent neo-Nazi figurehead like The Based Stick Man or Nathan Damigo of the Division Azul.
It's a nice park on the banks of the Muhs-uhtuq.
It begins in Elsinore (Helsingør in Danish) Castle the funeral of King Hamlet with the sound of pouring rain. The ghost of King Hamlet appears before his son clad in the night sky telling him he died by murder most foul. Gertrude fears Hamlet mad and Claudius doesn't want Hamlet spoiling his plans so they hire Rozencrantz and Guildenstern to spy on him, and meanwhile, Polonius is also spying on Hamlet because he's not pleased with Ophelia's relationship with him. Hamlet requests some performers put on a play where the evil usurper pours poison into the king's ear (I am not making this up) and Claudius storms out. Hamlet gets the opportunity to slay Claudius but his superstitions get the best of him and he waits, fearing Claudius will go to heaven. Then he hears someone behind a curtain and stabs it. Turns out it's not Claudius but Polonius. Ophelia drowns herself and Laertes is pissed. Hamlet is attacked by pirates en route to his exile in England, and good for him, because Claudius sent secret orders to the King of England sentencing him to death, and so he returns home to find the gravedigger has dug up Yorick's skull. He's summoned to a fencing match with Laertes, where Claudius has poisoned both his blade and a goblet of wine. Gertrude drinks the wine and dies, Laertes wounds Hamlet and is then cut with his own blade and confesses the entire plot, and Hamlet forces Claudius to drink the poisoned wine. Horatio says "Farewell, sweet prince, and flights of angels sing thee to thy rest" and Fortinbras takes the throne. Rosencrantz and Guildenstern die offstage and end up in their own play, where they contemplate their new existence, flip coins that always come up heads, find themselves unable to figure out which one is Rosencrantz and which one is Guildenstern, die, and end up in Vagrant Story.
The play was shorn down to a little over 2 hours.
It's been a few years since I've seen Hamlet so I'm having trouble thinking of what exactly has been removed. Everything with Fortinbras.
I thought I saw Ashley but Ashley doesn't have bangs.
The playbill has a nice chart of who's who. King Hamlet and Claudius are brothers. King Hamlet is Gertrude's first husband and Claudius is her second husband. Hamlet is the son of King Hamlet and Gertrude. Hamlet is courting Ophelia, daughter of Polonius, the Lord Chamberlain, and sister of Laertes. Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are courtiers who were hired to spy on Hamlet. Osric is a courtier who summons Hamlet to his final duel. Marcellus is the officer who sights the ghost of King Hamlet. The Player King, the Player Queen, and Lucianus reenact the murder of King Hamlet.
Paige said she's never seen a playbill that wasn't filled with advertisements and she's never seen a playbill where all the advertisements are for places in Maryland. Paige has a phone case that says "writer" and like she tells everyone, someone bought it for her.
She is an English major, though.
Cassie really likes Paige's shoes in my depiction of her.
I'm not so she used the term kinky to describe them, but the term is pretty close to what she was getting at. Kinky but cute. They were made out of some kind of shiny black material.
She's living as a drifter/petsitter because she came here to chase after a boy which proved to be a mistake on her part. She asked if there's been any change in Ashley's life recently and I don't think she has been. She says that boy-girl dynamics means that women are hyperaware of flirtation to the point where they see it everywhere and guys are conditioned to always make the first move so they wouldn't be able to tell flirtation from their own ass. The dog she's currently sitting for is a dachshund who will roll over when you make fake gun noises. She studied acting and likes to make art but finds it hard to stick to one style which she believes is what people want to see. The performance of Hamlet was her first live Shakespeare play. She's more into film and TV acting than stage acting. I think as she does, especially when talking Deviantart. It's hard to make a name for yourself when you start out with nothing. She has trouble picturing herself without bangs because she had them a year ago and she's never been drawn before and when she's in front of a mirror, she tends to play with her hair. The train was stalled for five minutes at State Street and I didn't even notice.
Rachael was carrying a foam axe in a shopping bag. She ended up with it because her friend was moving and cleaning out all his stuff and found the axe and didn't want it. It's his loss. I said she's the first person I met who spells her name Rachael but that's not true. She wonders where she'd meet a Ráichéal and the answer is Ireland.
burning question: how is it that the clouds still hang on you?
