Wow, I rushed this one. I'll have to add new things. Like, I have a Stanislaw Lem book that I got in Boston! It's not the specific one I wanted but it's called The Futurological Congress and it looks good.
I'm reading The Dragons of Babel, despite feeling weird about not reading The Iron Dragon's Daughter, and I don't regret it, not at all.
Teach a man to fish and he'll only eat when the fish are biting.
Teach a man to scam and the suckers will always bite.

Best fucking quote ever. Also, where else could you read a book with the line "Galadriel! How long does it fucking take?!" Nowhere!
There's this too: "afraid of our own shadows and too blind to change." I attribute it to Christina but you know how things are (If I didn't tell you Michael Swanwick said it, you'd never know) it could very well be from a song or a poem or even the King of Hanover (read: guy in a cape and upsidedown Burger King crown).
I take back what I said about Muse fans. Electric Light Orchestra's fans (and the band itself) suck more. I do not and will never consider dooby-doo-doo to be proper lyrics if you're not Cab Calloway, The Spanish Inquistion, Strong Bad wearing a yellow turtleneck or Carmen Freaking Sandiego and think anyone who wants lyrics should listen to Slowdive, even if they don't think any good music has been produced since 1980. They're utterly fucking wrong, by the way.
Music of the Stars
Albert Schweitzer Portrait - I don't even know who that is. Pretty good, though.
Piano Concerto in G Major - It's overlong, but it's good. It's Ravel. What else?
Entry of the Gods into Valhalla - I'd like to take this moment to address all Wagnerites who dislike Mahler because his works are long (the spoken reason) and because he's a Jew (unspoken reason): Bite me.
This was surprisingly short, though.
Their way of thinking led to...
Mars, the Bringer of War: I like this a lot. The performance felt a bit detached somehow. I blame the acoustics.
Star Trek - I wish I could remember Bum Review's lyrics to this. Oh, there are actual lyrics, sung by Uhura, but I don't recommend listening to them.
Star Wars - Mostly from Episode VI (the opening, the death star goes kaboom, the awards ceremony (raaaaaaaaaawr at not getting a medal), and the end credits. No Imperial March, tooo bad. And
Speaking of Death Star, there's a hurricane somewhere in the Atlantic and it feels like an imminent threat. It's projected to miss and scrag Canada instead, but wish me luck anyway because I really don't like that cone of error and will only feel comfortable when. Cone? They're being silly. Hurricanes don't go into space. And wish Dave luck too. That's why I said death star.
If I disappear, that's where I am. Internetless and/or powerless.
Burning Question: Whatever gave these people the idea that Hitler believed in universal health care. Because that's not what I think of.
Unless you think those really were decontamination showers, anyway.
Get the hell out of my country, fascist wankers.
