Rushdie sucks, I agree. But to Britain's credit, they have Aldiss and Harrison and Miéville.
Speaking of Aldiss, in Hothouse, Gren finds a propaganda machine they christen Beauty and it says things like "Ban Monkey Labour now! Boycott chimp goods! Don't allow Monkey Labour in your factory." This is important because "is monkey labor unethical" was the first burning question I asked.
That was a strange, surreal novel.

Not only did someone say that gay people will put straight families and their 2.5 kids and their picket fence in death camps, but he called the Nazis intellectuals.
Not the same person who compared Syrian pro-government militias with rape victims. I wonder if they'd use blackmail if they wrote a story with all the characterization and prose quality of a middle schooler's essay too. Probably.

There were skunks at the wildlife center. And the raccoons were playing a game: see which one can come closest to the human without running away. Or sneak past the human. Or grab the human's clothes without getting a dustpan waved in your face. They weren't trying to hurt the raccoons, just scare them.
I don't have any pictures of this and for that I am sorry.

since Brain Scratch Commentaries was talking about Channel Awesome, I'll agree with them that the Nostalgia Chick sucks the fun out of everything, yet I'll watch most of her videos anyway. It's like the Simpsons. I know they only play one season of episodes for 20 days of the month, and I know they're overplayed.
I don't hate Lisa the Drama Queen, by the way, I'm just disappointed by it. Especially when the description of it and the non-high-definitionness (not a word, but who cares?) makes me think it's Lisa's Rival instead.
