So, as a sendoff for the Summer of 2012, I had a brilliant idea: watch The Room with Youtube's closed captioning on. Someone said "It's like somehow they've discovered how Raocow's brain works, and put it to use as a caption writing machine," and that's pretty accurate. Anyway, I checked the video on youtube and there was no button that turned on the closed captions. There's really no reason it can't, because I swear the captions are done by software in realtime and they're not in some uploaded file. I guess Youtube couldn't handle the insanity and awesomeness and insane awesomeness and awesome insanity.

Dexter Palmer wrote in a book that almost made me swear off literature because I felt that nothing could ever live up to it: It's hard to summon the Christmas spirit in the middle of July.

It's even worse around the end of August or beginning of September. In fact, it's downright cruel. Anyone who works for FOX, please take note of them.

I'm posting these because Melissa needs to see them and laugh at how bad they are. I am going to post them on imgur because the artist is a truly horrible person. Please do not use Google's image search because that hurts both of us.

They're pretty big and rather offensive to the senses, so I'm just going to link to them.

Since I'm addressing this entry to a woman with green hair, I will once again reference M. John Harrison and his description of an amateur painting

There is a man looking out on the suety sky and his head is detached from his body and hovering above it. I'd like to think that if he could get oxygen to his brain, he'd be thinking ‘We must not judge God by this. It’s just a study that didn’t come off.’ Unfortunately, there are no creatures of the deep more amorphous and less evolved than haddock.

It's supposed to be a cityscape, but all I see are a bunch of rocks and what is either a walnut or Audrey II met with a basilisk. I'd be lying if I said that I've seen a sky like that, but I have seen a Sonic II rom hack where the background in one of the levels is that vomitous shade of orange and Sonic looks a bit like Rydia received about a hundred sieverts and then Sonic ate her (I just know there's fan art of that. Minus the radiation part). Believe me when I say the Chemical Plant boss is at least ten times harder when you can't see if the platforms are there or not. And I genuinely like Casino Night's changes, even if Sonic and a few other objects still look terrible.

But I digress.

This looks like concept art for a D&D ripoff game by Sachen.

I spent a few minutes looking at myself in the Photo Booth and comparing my own facial features to this thing. I know I'm a mere human, but the curves of my neck touch my ears, my forehead does not take up half of my head, and my skin does not have the texture of a plastic bag.

There are some other things, but they're not so much badly colored (it's not even colored at all, in fact) as they are creepy and fetishistic. Since this is a primer on how not to color and not a primer on how not to come off as a creep when you make portraits (hint: don't focus on the breasts, loins, and buttocks! also, ask yourself, would a real person wear this outfit in public?), I'm not even going to bother.

burning question: what's the first dream you remember having?
