Shel (formed from the first letter in each sister's name - Sara, Hannah, Eva, Liza) was playing in front of the museum, using one of very very many Play Me I'm Yours pianos, and there was a kid waving a toy lightsaber. Eva (the mandolinist) thought someone's cat dress was cuter than my Cats Against War shirt, and I showed her something really cute: I thought it was a raccoon but to her it was probably a white blur. We talked with someone from Harbin and Eva said she might want to perform in China and I told her to go wherever her music takes her. They're not from around here (They're from Fort Collins, CO, which as far as I am concerned, may very well be Mars or Patagonia or The Emerald City) so obviously she doesn't know who Emperor Norton's Stationary Marching Band are but Eva's hat and outfit made her look like a member, but they are playing at Berklee (in the future) or they will have played at Berklee and you missed it, sorry (in the past). And they just gave away CDs so I'm listening now.

One of the people filming them had a tattoo that said Faith in Hebrew.

One of these days, I'll paint them. I'll let you know. I'll let them know.

Good enough, right. If there's something better, I'll use that as the reference.

Three guys were making Optimus Prime. If it's not on the Twitterverse you weren't meant to see it. But it was awesome. Above them, there was a sculpture that looked like a giant albino snake skin.

"They're camel horses" she said, about some horses painted on a 6th century Chinese tile. Which aren't possible, as far as I know.

It did look like a mummified falcon and birds are really scrawny under all those feathers. Trust me, I've seen birds that ripped out their feathers due to stress.

One of the Dutch paintings depicted an empty church, cleansed of all decoration and icons after the Reformation, and it was totally empty and huge.

Once, in the Kingdom of Benin, there was a future king who ran around naked and covered in warpaint to prove to everyone that he was in fact male.

I checked that pillar out. It had "don't look up" and "shit" and "love will save the world" and also "some guy loves so and so."

There was a guy playing the trombone at Park Street.

I bonded with a woman over Joseph Heller and Kurt Vonnegut and how we both read Catch-22 because we love Vonnegut's novels. but she had to transfer trains, alas. Some other people dressed like there was a Bruins game (I didn't think hockey season started yet, but okay.) where trying to lean forward and possibly toppling over when the train went thunkTHUNK THUNKthunk thunkTHUNK.

A woman had neon pink streaks in her hair. Another had neon green dreadlocks. I shall get out the pens. Soon enough. And some kid was riding on her sister or friend like a horse.

Overheard at the MFA, said by someone who admitted she doesn't get art.
Burning question: Why are there angel babies making out in a basket?
