yamamanamaThey have lynxes in Maine. I didn't get to see anything happen with a lynx, just photographs. And the thing Nikki learned from the Galapagos is that humans are really fucking everything up.
We did surgery on an African pygmy hedgehog to find the source of an anomaly in her intestines that wasn't showing up on ultrasound or x-ray, being a hedgehog she is susceptible to cancer, being a mammal and having XX chromosomes, she is incapable of parthenogenesis, so she's not pregnant or anything. I got to see a full urinary bladder get deflated and then I had to go.
While this happened, Stephanie declared holy war on a housefly. It eventually landed in the trash bag after about half an hour of flying around and ceiling-standing where none of us could reach it and Stephanie murderized it there and she was very proud of the fact that the corpse was already in the trash bag.
Nothing much else happened all the rest of the day. I'm sorry it's another short entry. The reptile room smelled even worse than it did last Monday.
(yes, this is from Only Forward, but I did have a dream like that and I do have my reasons for picking a quote from Only Forward, but those mean nothing to you, I know.)
Burning Question: You know the way how in dreams you can be with people whose faces you've never seen before, and yet know that they're friends of yours?
