three types of solitude
Nov. 5th, 2013 12:11 amThere were some school groups. This is the slowest time of the year, because people are outside less during the first cold snap, and also there are no babies being born at this time and all the adolescents are being sent to the wild. Why they spent more time outside when it's literally rather than just figuratively freezing is beyond me.there were some school groups. This is the slowest time of the year, because people are outside less during the first cold snap, and also there are no babies being born at this time and all the adolescents are being sent to the wild. Why they spent more time outside when it's literally rather than just figuratively freezing is beyond me. Perhaps by then they believe they can make it warm by listening to New Wave Syria (actually Slovene), Flying Saucer Attack, Fennesz (Endless Summer only), and Ducktails on a loop. It's also dark at 5 PM. On the bright side, the reptile room smelled of reptiles, not of vinegar acids.
I painted this, but the photo sucks. I'll have to flatten it out first. I'll do a stealth edit next time I get the chance, translation: the next sunny afternoon, or perhaps just inform you.
Brody compared it to the artwork in Abarat. Well, actually, he said that about The Girl With Pastel Hair, but his point still stands. The colors are a lot warmer than I've been using lately; even when I painted the woman in New York with the orange jacket, there were blacks and blues and greens in that.
And once again, FOX failed to do the right thing by switching Bart The Lover with The Ned-liest Catch. I suspect that FOX hands out these discs to their affiliates that disintegrate after 20 plays. I guess The Ned-liest Catch is still in syndication in some places; FOX Boston only plays the previous season. In the wee hours of the morning, of course, to make room for Dish Nation and TMZ.
burning question: "So, basically, one head of the hydra couldn't talk to the other?"
In quotes because I found it on Twitter. But it sums up my thoughts. Something about broadcast rights to older episodes of the Simpsons. I don't quite understand it but don't worry yourself, nobody at FOX understands it either.
