silvery and starless
Dec. 1st, 2013 06:14 pmA few brief words about John Singer Sargent and the world around him:
Zuleika is an Arabic name. All the while, I thought Zuleekistan was something Volsky made up.
She said that wax was used to preserve white space.
I said that I didn't know there were Bedouins in Jordan and Syria but I guess things were different back then, and they suddenly found their lands split into French and British zones of control, followed by Egyptian and Israeli zones of control. And, no, the Arabs did not revolt against the Ottoman Empire so they could suffer under the British Empire and Syrian Arab Republic.
She was showing her friend how Sargent did his brush strokes, and I asked if she painted, and she said yes, and she started out with acrylics and then moved on to watercolors.
I do acrylics but watercolors are nice because you don't have a huge mess to clean up afterwards. She agrees with that. Also, she thinks baby raccoons* are cute.
And I don't have a kiln, which is a huge problem when doing ceramics.
At Park Street, there was a guy with one leg playing the guitar, the tambourine (with his foot), and alternating between playing the harmonica and singing at the same time.
*Sara said the raccoons she encounters aren't as pleasant-looking or pleasant.
Yesterday night, I woke up at 4 AM, not anxious or lovesick or depressed or anything. Or maybe I was a little lovesick but without any of that anxiety that kept me awake. Nope, I slept, I dreamt of declaring Dubai a republic, I was hot when I woke up. So eventually, I get back to sleep, dream some dreams I can't remember, wake up at 7:45 AM so tired I can barely get myself out of bed.
I can't explain that.
Burning question: How have they not made a Black Friday beat-em-up/fighting game/survival horror?
