I don't see how China's hurting anyone with a lunar rover. There are worse things they can spend their budget on. In any case, I know I'm going to regret this title (it's a chapter of The Fallen Moon, which I have not read and suspect wasn't even released in the United States) in ten years, much like I'll regret Heirs to All Eternity and like how I already regret using "Yama, in Love," or how I feel like "The Rose Show On The Moon" was meant for "Palely Loitering" and vice versa. Oh well.

Things that make time's flow grind to a halt: longing, limerence, saudade, anxiety, imminent threats, overstimulation, understimulation, anticipation.

I fell on my duff when walking the dog yesterday. As I said to Zack, at least I didn't fall on my face and as Zack said that's why we evolved asses.

A lot happened.
Someone brought two underweight geckos. Well, one was merely underweight, the other was attenuated. Stress, probably, caused by being around other geckos. Also, a leucistic ball python, which is not an albino and has very different genetics from an albino, who needed an abscess removed. Someone else brought her quaker parrot. Someone else brought a bird who can speak French. I'm really impressed by that. I don't think it was an African grey.

Snakes are trisected into regions: cranial contains the head, the lung and heart (which has three chambers, like all amphibians, squamates, tuataras, and turtles - crocodilians, birds, and mammals have four chambers in their heart). And, yes, I said lung. Most of the time, it's the right lung. Middle region contains the liver, pancreas and spleen or pancreaspleen in some species, and stomach. The bladder is not associated with the liver, it's somewhere else. Caudal region contains the gonads and the rest of the GI tract, which empties out from a scale flap.

Zak was trying to get Waffle to jump up on one of the tables and having us fill out a sheet with fake names and fake phone numbers and fake e-mails that would look professional. I put a phone number, not knowing if it existed, and suggested calling it. A pity I don't remember it. Also, unlike zip codes, area codes and exchanges seem to be completely arbitrary. I say seem to be, because there might be some kind of order to them that makes sense to phone companies. Caitlin/Veronica/Danielle signed with a male's name, the other two used each others name. Or not.

Brody imitated Jean, saying that "I cry around swans and when watching movies but other than that, I'm STOIC!" Earlier, one of the interns who can't be much bigger than a large swan, but a lot heavier, wrangled a swan, so Zack brought up swan rodeos or something.
Meanwhile, Waffle stole a toy from the shop and proceeded to rend it asunder.

Last week someone suggested feeding preserved necropsy animals to the beetles, which would preserve them from the inside.

And there's a band called Menthol Moose.

burning question: What is so wrong about leaving a functioning website the way it is?
