The Happening World
To break down some recent events: Colin Flaherty and company whips up the blogosphere into a frenzy with reports of a "knockout game," and even Democratic Underground falls for it. Conrad Alvin Barrett, seeking to turn the tables or at least become a martyr for his cause, breaks a man's jaw. Conrad is white and the victim is black, and therefore, the blogosphere sees him as a martyr and hero fighting against Black Run America and are crying foul over his arrest.
Context
Ducks have more advanced waterproofing, to prevent weighting down and hypothermia, while cormorants are not waterproofed at all, which prevents air bubbles from forming in their feathers and helps them dive better.
Continuity
another quiet day spent looking at a Muscovy Duck (not from the Sea of Muscovy) and his wounds (no surgery was needed) and his really cool green feathers and telling kids how snakes eat and why they can't actually taste things and how turtles and skinks and bearded dragons defend themselves from predators.
While I was doing this, I had a song about dinosaurs stuck in my head. The chorus goes like this:
Come with me now to the land of dinosaurs
you've got the spikes and I've got the mighty roar
if Godzilla were here, he'd tell you to your face
dinosaurs ruled the earth, they ruled the whole damn place.
It's awesome, and I'm glad Christmas is over with, because as I said to Sara, there are only so many times I can listen to Santa Baby.
Note that I had this thought back in August. I waited until now to post it because the end of 2013 or the beginning of 2014 seemed more appropriate.
So, anyway, Vi Hart once pointed out that many sites just copy stuff to leech hits from google searches without adding anything of value. I think of certain people who have ten times as many entries as I have, but at least eight thousand of those entries are little more than links to Weasel Shitters and Blazing Cat Shit.
Burning Question: Which happens first, hoverboards are invented or I post my 1000th entry?
