another thing to know about the estrous cycle is that spaying animals in heat tends to be a bit more tricky at best, say, with cats. Especially because cats stay in heat until they copulate. There are ways to trick the cat's body into thinking the cat copulated but they're unnecessarily invasive and painful for everyone involved (use your imagination) and the benefits don't really outweigh the drawbacks.
dogs go into heat twice a year and it eventually wears off. Which is good, because spaying a dog in heat is a bloody mess. It can be done. Vets don't like to do it. I can't imagine they particularly like to spay cats in heat either.
another thing is that people have suggested giving feral males vasectomies. This allows them to produce hormones and defend their territory from other males. Unfortunately, they'll still try to copulate.

Well, it's mostly about cats. I had a dream in which Cruis'n Exotica had a partially underwater Yusnaan stage, and there was some bowling involved.
And I found more pictures of the foxes. Huzzah!

Burning question: Cat sex is a lot like MRA sex, then. Or is it the other way around? It's certainly not like porcupine sex, I can tell you that.
