my blooming colors
Jun. 23rd, 2014 08:23 pmthere was a Great Raccoon Escape today, in which three raccoons somehow got out of the raccoon pen and fled into the woods. I saw someone carrying a net with a raccoon in it. It's one of those things that's amusing if you don't have to deal with it personally.
I had a dream a while ago about a great raccoon escape. A premonition is just a memory of the future.
I missed the painted turtle get a something-esophagostomasomething. Some turtles will eat in captivity. This one won't. So we have to feed him through a tube, because he can't go a hundred and fifty days without eating.
maybe with the aggie students gone next week, things will calm down somewhat and I'll actually get to see these things happen. I wish more would happen. I showed some people around the center. There was an actual fellow volunteer, and her name is Courtney, and now I think Bob's Burgers is on my brain. A woman named Selina who wanted to be a vet tech arrived, griped about Floridiots who run animals over with their cars. Alec was originally named Alex but his parents crossed out the X on his birth certificate and it's messy. True story. Jay said that we got our chickens from the hatchlings at the Museum of Science. Hey, carnivores need to eat too. Yeah, people eat meat but very few people think about where that meat came from. Catherine and somebody else decided to make a new sign about how you can look at the ducks but don't go near the raccoons. But then she ran out of space and wrote RACCOO. Said ducks may be hybrids (of mallards and a black duck and Ra knows what), since mallards can hybridize with different varieties of duck.
I write "I wish more would happen" and then I look back at it and think about it and stuff actually happened.
Burning Question: someone in the Mad Genius Club wants to fund uterine replicators, and the "dams" would be forced to pay. Dehumanization much?
