give more than you take
Aug. 15th, 2014 09:14 pmI was at the ICA for Free Fun Friday. I think it's the last one I'm going to but I could try to go to the Photography museum.
Let's find some images!

Someone's like "this would be cool if on the other side, there were warm autumn colors, so it would be like a change of seasons."
If you're wondering, it's a print of a forest with holes ripped in it.

This URL is weird so I don't know if I can link to it.

also, I swear that South Africa flag had purple instead of red.

So, this, I believe, is Another Turn. It was taken at a different museum, obviously; at the ICA, the four panels are stacked vertically, and they're in that corridor that overlooks the sea.

He used his own saliva to make this.

this looked really cool reflected in one of the mirror mosaics.

Slower Than This

There's a wall with our own paper flowers. I would be a lot happier if I knew I could use tape and not just glue sticks. Fun fact: in high school, I knew a kid who ate a glue stick once.
There's a wall with people offering advice. One says "live every week like it's shark week" and another says "don't stop believing OOOOoooooOOOOooooh!" My advice is "it's a beautiful world."
there was an ode to Pluto on the Red Line. Unfortunately, I can't find it. Someone still loves you, Pluto.
It's Johara, Arabic for jewel, not Jahara, land of the Garif.
I stuck around for belly dancing (videos of Greenfest's belly dancing will probably propagate within the week), which included a modern dance with trailing orange fans and a traditional Moroccan dance and a drum solo, but not for anything after that because I left my hoodie at home and it was overcast and too cold for mid-August. I would love it if a low-intensity tropical storm came rampaging through, and I know that would mean even more rain and wind but at least it would break the hold the polar vortex has on us.
Uh, whoops.
I just noticed Pauli's uses the Archer font. I think it's because I was last there before ISIS started their campaign against the Iraqi Arab Republic and the Syrian Arab Republic and I started watching Archer as a result.
I met an Australian shepherd (dog) named Emma and her owners say that she didn't have a tail when they got her. I met a Rottweiler-Retriever mix who had Rottweiler coloration and Retriever everything else. He had a tail. Alas, his name is Jackson and not Miki.
burning question: why would anyone remove her tail?
