21 days until the vernal equinox
If this was summer, we'd feel it ending by now.

I finally have some good news: the merganser and the bufflehead were released. On the other hand, the ocean has turned into a squishee, and it's hard to find places where we can release them. And don't drink from the ocean because it probably tastes like the sea and death. And by "probably," I mean I've gulped in seawater and it tastes awful.
On the other hand, someone beat a goose to death and we're looking for bruises and signs of broken bones. I missed this. A red-tailed hawk had a tube of solidified acrylic pinned to his broken wing bone to prevent it from rotating, bending, or otherwise moving around. I missed this. An owl crash-landed in a snowbank.
We still have a fuckton of animals, mostly geese and swans and ducks, which means a fuckton of dirty laundry. And also, I've learned that cutting up dead rats is more difficult than I thought it would be. Also, I kept tearing my gloves.
Baby season's in two months, if you can believe it. Well, it's merely freezing instead of bonechillingly cold, so this might be a sign that this terrible winter is finally at an end.

The work upstairs is nearly done so Greg had all of us pose for pictures. Someone used bones to write a sign.

Foxes have been shown mice in tubes. At first, they wait until the mouse comes out, but the mice see the fox and think "I think not," so the foxes will wait on top of the tubes for the mice to come out and ambush them. On the other hand, if they haven't been taught how to hunt by fellow foxes, they'll just sit there and watch the prey animal.

Someone brought her pet red-masked conure, which can speak but not in front of people.

Zofia was disappointed but I told her I'd rather say what I want to in person even if that won't happen for several months and Jean agrees with that. Online is super-awkward, after all. That's all I'm going to say about that. I don't think I'd say any more in other situations. I'm being as ambiguous as possible.

Hey, guess who just posted a song on Youtube. It's a "cover" of an Atlas Lab song. Spoiler alert: They're starting to record an EP so I'll be the first to post about it when it's released.

Emma says if you don't like psychedelic garage rock and haphazardly mixing genre names together, go listen to some Hoobastank and stick your head in a snowbank. One of their songs features her.

I watched her a few nights ago. That dead cat cybersex scene early in the movie could have been really awkward. I'd ask a burning question about her but

of all the souls I've encountered in my travels, his was the most human. You can't see me right now but I'm doing a Vulcan salute.
Burning Question: who put the bomp in the bomp shabomp shabomp?
