Star Ocean - The Third Entry

Lots of backtracking here. I think that between yesterday and today, I managed to go through three dungeons, and I had a lot of time. Oh, well, I think I'm near the end.
When we left off, I was trying to find an optional dungeon near Sylvalant.

Um, well, it's cool. I wasn't expecting yet another palette-swapped cave dungeon when I heard Sylvalant Ruins. It's really easy to get lost here.

This switch does nothing.

Monsters. No, they're not that bad, but they drain you of MP and soon resurrect bottles. And, as I said, getting lost is easy here.

I found this. Apparently, you lose Marvel by going in here. That's Joshua's sister in the crystal. No, I have NO idea what happened here, nor do I really care. I want to keep Marvel.

This si the boss, which I found while looking for the Exit, before I restocked on healaing and MP-restoring items. Ok, since I'm dead and have no items, I reloaded it. Anyway, the strategy for this boss is to go take a shower or something. His main attack is light-based, and Joshua, Marvel, and Milly all have armor that absorbs light-elemental attacks, and Milly will heal Ratix. Ok, I mashed buttons.
Inexplicably, the background is a grassy cliffside.

This is the other optional dungeon's boss, a giant radioactive bunny.

Oh, boy! More backtracking!

Just some cool designs.

Yellow and Green are missing. To be honest, I was expecting the rest of the sanctum to look like this. Or maybe another cave. Only it's GREEN or ORANGE or something.

But, no, it's a technological dungeon, sort of like in Phantasy Star. Well, I don't know, since the only guide I read about Phantasy Star III only made it up to selling the Prince's clothes, buying an Escapipe, and making the game unplayable.
Miyomi might know.

I was wrong about the robots. The terror isn't inflicted by robots, however.

Ok, here's what you have to do. Go down the stairs until you find the red key, then unlock all the red doors, then get the blue key, then go all the way to the top level where the exit to Parj Temple is and unlock something. I recommend leaving here, since you'll be exhausted of supplies. I didn't. This dungeon is annoying, mostly because of the monsters. The rest of the game was pretty balanced and on the hard side of "hard" and "frustrating and stupid". This plays like someone who knew nothing about making games fun and instead making them as hard as possible took Star Ocean and hacked some monsters to make them invincible.

This is what I really hate about this game. These are the annoyances. Robots are easy.
Orange: Come in groups of two and can be killed by your weapons. Ray heals them. Unfortunately, that's the spell that Joshua likes.
Blue: Come in groups of three and can only be hurt by spells and a few other things. Yes, your weapons can hurt them occasionally, but most of the time, you do only a few points of damage. It's like Terranigma.
Teal: Exactly like blue, except they come in groups of four, two on both sides. This usually results in death, since, at least, with the blue things, Joshua and Ronixis will sometimes cast spells. With the teal things, there is only death.

GAME OVER, MAN, GAME OVER.
Yeah, the teal guys killed me. They're more annoying than That I Dare Not Name. Stupid Tri-ace.
Two continents of backtracking later...

This thing heals.

I think of the Book of the New Sun when I see that.

Earth! With a bigass continent in the middle of the Pacific. It's called Mu.

Well, Elwe, you wanted to know what the Eye of Truth was.

Fortunately, you don't have to backtrack.

That's a town near Sylvalant, not Mount Metox with a palette swap.
The Demon World... coming soon. I'm Star Oceaned out for the next few days, especially after that stupid dungeon.
