for a place in the sky
Dec. 5th, 2017 10:30 pmI saw this buck with a missing antler noshing on a pumpkin. At first, from behind, I thought it was a really big dog.

I'm 99.99% sure that it's a male. I didn't get a good look at his underside. Apparently, female white-tailed deer who grow antlers have unusual levels of testosterone, which in a female mammal, is produced in the ovaries, and they never shed them. On the other hand, both male and female reindeer can grow antlers.
Pumpkins are delicious, says Emily. She was trying to clean the whiteboard and update it with the current group of patients and the neon pink marker wouldn't come off so I took it off their hands for them. She says to burn it but I'm going to use it to color things. She says we have very few rodos and the geese we have have leg problems and not lead poisoning, and the only noteworthy goose is the one with the missing eye. We used to have a razorbill (there's a video on their Facebook page; they're washing it and it was found in the woods, covered in an oily substance) but it was transferred and she wishes we still had it. She was imitating the razorbill, which makes a very loud and angry "aak" "aak" sound for such a small bird. Someone's going to show up and ask about an escaped razorbill. "No, it's just me." We still have the sora. A swan ate his food so fast he threw up. We're going to try brumating a brown snake in a fridge, taking him out every few weeks for a soaking. Normally, they eat things like earthworms,
Emily told us that baby snapping turtles eat bloodworms and mealworms. We have a couple of snapping turtles and a couple of spotted turtles that were rescued from cranberry bogs and hanging out with us until Beltane (best case) or Ascension Day (likely case).
She had her first non-sad lunch, a margarita pizza from Bertuccis. Usually, it's a can of pineapples or something.
She says that on her new phone, Google looks decent but on her old phone, Google looks like crap. There are two kinds of sites: ones where the mobile version is nonexistent and ones where the mobile version has few of the functions of the desktop version.
Speaking of Twitter, she wonders how there are still people who still like Trump because he's done horrible things to women and horrible things for women. Uh, Emily, I think you just answered your own question.
The sink broke and I have no way to get it back on without altering spacetime and temporarily removing the wall, I knocked over a mug (thankfully not the Klimt one), and knocked over some towels while Emily was trying to bring them up to med ward as well.
I told you'd I'd jinx myself. I kind of forgot that Saleh existed. At first I thought age and earlier wounds had caught up to him but I was completely blown away to find out that it was the Houthis, of all people. So I guess what happened is that he tried to negotiate with the Saudis and Hadi supporters and the Houthis didn't like that and killed him. My guess is there will be a split between Houthis and Saleh loyalists, creating a clusterfuck within a clusterfuck within a clusterfuck. Clusterfuckception, if you will.
I know about as much about the situation in Yemen as anyone does, thank you very much.
Maybe tomorrow, the sun will rise on a slightly better world.
burning question: which is worse, centrists or libertarians?
