13 days until the Vernal Equinox
Somehow, I didn't lose power, although everyone else did. It flickered a few times and I ended up going to bed at 10 PM because I didn't want to deal with that shit again.

This is the mink. Or a mink who did the same exact thing as the mink we had a few weeks ago, which is quite doubtful. The white on the chin is a great way to identify them.
One of these days, a langolier is going to eat Jack.

So here's a proper update on the sora: he's going to stay with us until it gets warm again and the rest of the soras migrate back here. He's losing weight again. If Jack takes a picture of him, you can expect to see it around Saint Ajora's Day.
Or her. Taylor says "she." They're not really sexually dimorphic.

Christine knew someone who thought that Florida was on the west coast.
Taylor said that she's always amazed at how far from anything Hawaii is, and she knew someone from Hawaii who has to spend 24 hours flying, partially because of the distance and partially because the one from Phoenix/Los Angeles to Boston isn't necessarily synced up with the one from Hawaii to Phoenix/Los Angeles. Eliza compared it to travelling to the Philippines and said that flying over the Pacific is terrifying.
Christine wants to visit the Maldives and see all the bioluminescent plankton but not the garbage before it sinks.

Emily found a bag of moldy beets. Yum.

Someone had a conure named Mad Max, who would occasionally say his name in an Aflac turtle from Majora's Mask voice and occasionally make bird noises. She also has a ferret named Bandit because he's always stealing things and because he has a mask around his eyes and a dog named Holly. Boarding was crowded because after the storm, people couldn't keep their reptiles warm. We have a bird who is 30 years old of a species that is only meant to .

We got baby squirrels (on March 5, brought by Brittney) and they're so small that they have very little hope of survival but we're keeping them around so everyone can learn how to take care of them.

Rob said that we'd be having rounds at 12:00 when it was already 12:15. Christine was quoting Isabella and I said she nailed her voice.
There was a new colony of 1.5 million penguins discovered. Penguins will apparently attempt to mate with corpses and stones.

Caroline brought her dog, who is named Hope and is really fluffy and adorable.

My understanding of the Italian election is that M5S are Bernie Bros, PD are centrists, FI is Bunga Bunga, LN-ENF are fascists, LeU are leftists, FdL are centrists, and E are a more different kind of centrist.
And by Bernie Bros, I mean they have no idea how to govern and no coherent policy and their platform is pretty much "we have no idea how to govern and no coherent policy and we're not going to form any coalitions but maybe we'll join up with the fascists but vote for us because we're anti-establishment." because it worked out so wonderfully for the United States. I have to admit I do find it funny that Italy's election was suborned by a half-man, half-pizza.

Trump wants to be president for life and I really hope someone gives him a monkey's paw. Assuming monkey's paws grant misfortune to the wisher and not for the greater misfortune, because then Trump would become a lich.

Michael had a collection of Give Yourself Goosebumps.
A few of the Goosebumps books I didn't read as a kid. Namely, The Haunted School, which was weird and creepy at times, and Don't Go To Sleep, which had a pretty great premise. I still haven't read Lathe of Heaven. Also, I would read a book in which the monster that eats one sock in each load of laundry gets out of the washer and runs amok. Some people say there's a nexus where all the lost socks end up. I think that was the plot of an episode of Rocko's Modern Life. Or maybe I was reality-hopping and ended up in a reality in which I didn't actually buy socks. You have to watch the TV version of Don't Go To Sleep, because it's extremely low budget even by the standards of a TV show that shows that a dog is now a member of the walking dead by showing a closeup in black and white and doesn't even try to follow the plot of the book.

I knew some people who are Dr. Who fans but I don't talk to them anymore, one because she's Ashley and one because AIM is no longer a thing. I don't remember what episode it was I watched, but I do remember that the budget was on par with pretty much every TV show made in the 20th century that isn't Star Trek. Michael says that's why the major antagonists have plungers for arms.

I don't know if I told you about A Wrinkle in Time. I loved that book as a kid. But I only had that one. Anyways, I borrowed the other two from the library but for some reason, I thought A Swiftly Tilting Planet was the second book. Then much much later I find out it's a quartet. Which is weird because I was two when the last book was published. And then even later, I find out it's a quintet. Or a quartet and trilogy with a linking novel between the two. Or two octets, καιρός and Χρόνος. I'm not really sure.

Burning Question: So when he erased 1988 from existence in The Cuckoo Clock of Doom, what happened with the election?
