I'm really quite grateful it rained on Sunday because on Tuesday, they predicted 68 and sunny, and 68 isn't amazing but it' s really the best I can hope for this time of year, while it's impossible to feel comfortable when it's 54 degrees.
I know, I know, be careful what you wish for.
Even the duck is happy about this.

The cooper's hawk and the kestrel both have mites. We're releasing another batch of squirrels and by the end of the week putting the baby owls in some other owl nests.

I learned that Dova understands object permanence. I tried hiding the food under a towel so she wouldn’t clamor for it while we cleaned out her cage and she continued to clamor for it.

I gave Falco a couple of mice and he leapt from his perch and fell on his duff, or whatever the bird equivalent of a duff is.
Meanwhile, Veronica made food for the raccoons. The dog food she gave them has chicken, peas, and carrots, and she said it smells good but not great.

I told Julia that he's not the most dignfied. She says "He tries really hard." and mentioned "absolute sphere."
Her t-shirt depicted a black cat reading a book that said how to train your human. She was talking about A Song of Ice And Fire and how long it took her to read the books.
Veronica brought up Time Cat, which she said has a premise of “cats don’t get lost, they leap through time,” and a black cat with an ankh marking and his human end up in Ancient Rome or Greece and are worshiped or are introduced to Ireland where they are thought to be dogs and eat all the snakes. That’s not what happened, I said. Michael pointed out that cats time traveling is not very realistic.
Veronica brought up Ancient Aliens. Everything is aliens. All religions are true but it's really aliens. The star of Bethlehem was an alien spaceship. Mary was impregnated by aliens. Jesus is half-alien. Aliens.
Once, in middle school, Elaine did a book report on the Three Little Pigs because they could read anything. No pseudo-intelligent bullshit about how the Big Bad Wolf is a metaphor for Hurricane Katrina or how the pigs' houses are a metaphor for industrialization, just a report on the Three Little Pigs.

I think people would care more about climate change if it rained constantly in South Carolina. That’s capitalism for you, says Veronica.

Elaine was eating cachupa with blood sausages, rice, corn, and various kinds of beans.
Elaine says this isn’t the last we’ll see of her. Veronica says the same but it may be a while.

burning question: April is over, will you tell me how long?
