I didn’t get to see the parade because I arrived early on (gotta get the good stuff at the book sale! Surprisingly, I did find something: Susan Palwick’s All Worlds Are Real. Never heard of her but Pat Murphy and A.M. Dellamonica say it’s good and I trust their opinions on things.) and I’d have to wait far longer than I’d want or even could. But maybe some other time. But I did get to see the masks and hear the brass band play a few songs, including the Ukrainian National Anthem.
I met a lot of dogs too.
I got a bang-bang chicken with fries, that is to say, I picked fries with cajun seasoning, and the chicken was fried with a spicy/tangy sauce of what I think is sriracha, buttermilk, and chili, topped with a sprig of cilantro, a few sliced jalapeños, and a slice of lime.


I kept inadvertently clipping off the tops of the pictures.







I love the coloring on this one.
