remembering beauty

So, now that I have a phone with a camera, I can finally post these sketchbooks again.
I found some ways to make this shit go a lot quicker. Firstly, I can find my images by showing the package contents of photos library and going into the Masters folder (not to be confused with Bad Masters Directory Block in Sim City 2000, which was either indicative that something was very wrong with your computer or a really oblique way of telling you that you’re attempting to save in a read only folder or CD-ROM or whatevs), then converting them to jpg en masse and also I can resize images en masse, just make sure to rotate the images first and obviously keep the proportions.
But I can’t seem to save en masse. I just have to hit the return button a hundred times. Maybe I ought to invest in one of those drinky birds.
all entries are approximate. I mean, these were done from early autumn of 2016 to early spring of 2017. I have no idea how this is going to look on dreamwidth, which lacks livejournal’s spoiler tags.

Lightyear has been banned in 14 countries. I can’t find a full list. Saudi Arabia’s overseer is like “don’t like it, go to Dubai. Oh wait, you can’t.”
Laws are harsh in the UAE for citizens (all one million of them) but I don’t know if expats (that is to say: rich white people, not Indian/Pakistani/Filipino laborers) are exempt.
You can tell who lives in those countries because they’re like “ARGH what bullshit. if my cousin’s kids ever visit me or if I have kids of my own, I’d show them the film anyway and if the parents ask, I’d tell them ‘the rating system in Malaysia is broken’” and by “broken” I mean “More broken than the MPAA” and the western right is like “ha ha, go woke, go broke, am I right?”
I’m wondering if a population exchange between all the people who are stuck in a country where a movie is banned because of seven seconds of “da homosex” and, in the case of Malaysia, where you can only go places in politics if you’re ethnically Malay but if you’re Chinese or Indian or one of the indigenous groups of Borneo, you at least get some religious and social freedoms, which, if you ask me, doesn’t even come close to being worth it, and in the case of Lebanon, has no functioning government and everything’s in shambles, and all those MAGA CHUDs who believe that everyone is entitled to their opinion.
burning question: Ah, but où sont les neiges d'antan? We see daffodils, but never snow. Nor chrysanthemums and autumn leaves. Nor rainbows and summer showers. Isn’t that all a little sad? And isn’t it sad never to see a lover again?
