I started Brave New World on Monday (and will probably finish it tonight; it's a short book), which I've been putting off since I started listening to Radiohead (Kid A and Brave New World go well). It's good. Seems kind of dated at times, with the lack of genetic engineering of social castes.

And speaking of books, Aurorama is due to come out in paperback come MAY!? Are they kidding me? That's an even longer wait than The Dream of Perpetual Motion. Sometimes I think there's a longer wait between the hardcover edition and a paperback, but then something like Embassytown (hardcover: late May 2011, paperback, late February 2012) comes along. So, I don't know. I'm going to blame the lack of bookstores.

Ava - The Child in the Sky, and Tales of A New York Pedestrian (which I've never even heard of is here too. I misread 3rd Avenue Island as Adventure Island at first, and it makes me sad that it's not in fact covers of the music from Adventure Island. Maybe Spamtron does.

I don't think Mohammed Rafi (for those of you who've seen Ghost World, he wrote the music in that Bollywood film Enid was watching in the opening credits) drank Heineken, guys. Makes me wonder who owns the rights to that song.

YES! Someone feels the same way about Plok that I do.
YOU HAVE GOT TO BE FUCKING KIDDING ME. We went to war with you over less, England! We’re not going to stand this act of Plok-based aggression! Mr. Weasel suffered through this whole fucking retarded bullshit game of fleas and pits and pratfalls and goddamn miserable vehicle segments and for what? A picture of Plok sitting on a goddamn chair? You know what, if I owned an Amiga and this was 1988 and I was a moron this might be an acceptable ending. I might be able to forgive you, England. I might be able to forgive you for being mind-controlling reptiloids, but no. Not this. This is a video game hate crime. This is an act of aggression.

I found something in ILXor's Batshit Rightwing Cartoonists 2011 thread called Lone Nut Comics that looks like it was drawn by dark elves. I hope crocodiles tear his face off. Or maybe they already did. It hasn't been updated since May.

Sianspheric has been compared to The Verve (yes), Slowdive (YES), and Boards of Canada (Huh? This is like saying that Ava sounds like Mission of Burma). They're really amazing space-rock/shoegaze. I could imagine Shion Uzuki listening to this stuff.

burning question: Is it weird that I thought a quote from Heinlein was from the movie Lord of War?
